Toronto: With techological advancements and rich natural resources, India is seen as a huge market, an investment destination and a place to do business by Canada, a senior diplomat has said. "India is now being increasingly recognized by Canadian companies as one of the most attractive destinations in the world today not just for trade or for investment, but also for cutting edge technologies," Satish Mehta, Consul General of India said. Besides, the country was known for providing for full range of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), ranging from call centers and tech-support to the most sophisticated financial services, auto parts, pharmacy, and of course information technology, he said. Mehta said Indian Business delegations from mining and auto parts industry would be in Canada next week, and the Ontario Trade Mission led by Premier Dalton Mcguinty comprising over 100 business leaders would be visiting India early next year. It would mark a watershed in Indo-Canada relations and boost ties between the two countries, he said. "An ambitious strategy has been formulated to sensitize the Canadian business establishments to recognize the benefits of engaging with India, and as a result the information and awareness gap is being narrowed, and more and more Canadian companies eye India as an investment destination," Mehta said. Both countries were committed to boost trade and investment, as also cooperation in science & technology, including environment-friendly technologies, Mehta added.
