Vianne Rocher (Juliette Binoche) and her younger daughter are drifters who open a chocolate shop in a conventional 1960 French town. They are met with cynicism by the evil town mayor resolute on shutting her down although the city is swayed by her wonderful chocolate. Johnny Depp joins the ride as an Irish gypsy. The movie is enjoyable and amusing and the presentation is great.
