CSS wins IBM's 'The Great Mind Challenge for Business' award

Mumbai: CSS, a technology operations management organization headquartered in San Jose, California, has won the Great Mind Challenge for Business 2009 Award for the most Innovative Collaboration Solution. CSS has received the award in this solution category for its 'Sametime Implementation' across the organization.

Instituted in 2009, The Great Mind Challenge for Business Award are annual awards which recognize visionary IBM India clients who have successfully implemented IBM software solutions to create exceptional business value. This award was presented at the 'IBM Software Universe,' IBM's flagship Software Group event, in Mumbai.

CSS had implemented the Sametime application to act as a unified communication and collaborative tool for its over 4500 employees worldwide. The innovative solution encompassed Sametime integration with the company's Open Source chat server, CSS Botnie for unified access to the enterprise resources using Sametime client for desktop and mobile, an audio and video conference for internal office meetings and communications, as well as Sametime integration with intranet portals and integration with Lotus Quickr.

Some of the key benefits of the Sametime implementation included travel cost and time reduction, voice trunk utilization, Green IT, fuel emission, parking space at office, automated instant information and response, and user awareness and availability. The Sametime application implemented by CSS acts as an innovative communication tool for organizations worldwide looking to enable information-sharing in a collaborative manner. With over 150 certified IBM Lotus Professionals, CSS has developed several products based on the Lotus Notes platform.

The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC) is a nation-wide software development contest conducted by the IBM Academic Initiative Team in India. The contest focuses on enabling technical institutes to nurture students and grooming them to become part of a competitive workforce by arming them with market ready skills. It also aims to provide student programmers with a unique opportunity to develop innovative solutions using open standards-based IT tools from IBM in complex real time situations.
