LONDON: Bank customers in Britain are worried about their details being outsourced by their banks to BPO companies abroad, a KPMG survey said. The survey said customers are more worried about BPO centers not subject to U.K. data protection law as the chances of data leakage is very high and it is difficult to punish offenders. About 28 percent surveyed said would be slightly concerned and about 77 percent of the respondents admitted they were not aware to what extent their banks have outsourced their operations. KPMG said, “The crunch is likely to come if and when there is a breach of their account of the account details and fraud is committed. That is when the evidence shows that customers are likely to defect.”
