BANGALORE: Bristlecone Inc, a supply chain solutions company specialising in SAP solutions, is expanding its nascent operations in India with the addition of 30 more solutions personnel at its Bangalore centre by the end of October, Bristlecone CEO Padman Ramankutty said on Saturday. "The company will have almost 100 personnel implementing SAP Netweaver competencies for customers by the middle of 2004," Ramankutty said. Bristlecone's Bangalore centre presently employs 30 people. Ramankutty, without going into details, also said new projects with some Indian oil majors are on the anvil. Bristlecone has oil giants Shell and Pennzoil on its client list. The company plans to resell SAP and Microsoft products in India soon. Bristlecone's core SAP supply chain solutions practice constitutes 60 per cent of its business. The company will establish a SAP NetWeaver competency centre within its Indian operations to support its SAP practice. "The competency centre is an extension of Bristlecone's growing focus on providing application development and applications integration services to customers running their systems on SAP's supply chain and transaction management suites," Ramankutty said. In the inceptional eight months since January 2003, Bristlecone's Indian operations contributed Rs 1 crore to the company's $18-million worldwide revenues, a share which the company hopes to increase to 20 per cent in the next 18 months.
