Zipper
A zipper is a commonly used device for temporarily joining two edges of fabric. The idea of a slide fastener was exhibited by Whitecomb L. Judson at the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893 in Chicago. Judson's fastener, called a clasp lock was an arrangement of hooks and eyes. Now the word 'Zipper' has become synonymous as a slide fastener, a device for binding the edges of an opening such as on a garment or a bag.
