Bangalore: Bollywood is known for its big stars and their brands. Our beloved celebrities fetch more bucks with endorsements than any other means. The very presence of celebs makes brands seem more real and reliable to people. 2011 witnessed many celebs bag numerous endorsements but some just stood out, mostly based upon the impact they made on public. Bollywood is any big brand’s paradise and here are some names that made news this year, according to ET and also other sources –

1) Aamir Khan:

Aamir Khan is the highest paid Bollywood actor when it comes to endorsements, earning 11-12 crores per endorsement. This fact might come as a surprise to many because Aamir is very particular about his choice of movies and endorsements. He has quite a few big brands under his banner, namely - Tata Sky, Titan, Samsung Mobile, Parle, Toyota, Mahindra Bikes and Etisalat DB. However, his contract with Coca Cola has not been renewed this year. People love his ads because he tends to completely get into his characters. He also comes in the Atithi Devo Bhavah ads, though this is not exactly mainstream endorsement.

2) Shah Rukh Khan:

Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest name when it comes to Bollywood endorsements. He endorses a host of brands and is a popular choice with many brands and earns 8-10 crores per brand. Shah Rukh earns more than Aamir every year based on endorsements because he has more number of brands under his wing. Shah Rukh believes in advertising in king-size, which was very apparent in RA-One. The money he earned from this movie alone was huge, which set new box-office records. His list of endorsements is as follows – Pepsodent, Dish TV, Hyundai Motors, Emami, Link Pens, D Décor, Nerolac Paints, Nokia, Airtel, Tag Huer, Himani Navratna Oil, Sona Chandi Chyawanprash and Gitanjali Group. He has had a good run with Pepsi and is fondly associated with the brand. He was also the brand ambassador for – Compaq, Belmonte, Sunfeast, Mayur Suitings and Lux. His energy and enthusiasm make him an instant favourite with brands.
