MILPITAS: IP Unity Corp., provider of a carrier grade services platform for enhanced voice and telephony applications, today announced the appointment of Keith Bhatia, a telecom industry business veteran, as senior vice president, Business Development.

Bhatia brings more than 16 years of industry experience to the position, and plans to aggressively expand IP Unity's business development program to include a record number of partners and customers as the company moves into 2003.

Keith Bhatia comes to IP Unity from ADC's Enhanced Services Division, which was acquired by SS8 Networks, one of the industry's most highly regarded signaling and service application providers to bridge legacy and next generation networks. While at SS8, Bhatia served as vice president for global sales, leading his international team to generate more than $100 million in sales for the company's enhanced services division.

"We're glad to have such an experienced and effective sales leader join our team here at IP Unity," said Arun Sobti, chief executive officer of the company. "Keith brings with him more than a decade of sales, strategic planning and business development expertise, and he is the ideal person to lead our business development campaign. We look forward to expanding our partner and customer network under his direction."

Prior to ADC, Bhatia served as director of account management and business development at Nokia, where he was responsible for managing major accounts including BellSouth. During his more than three-year tenure with the company, he was also responsible for strategic planning and the execution of several multi-million dollar contracts. Before joining Nokia, Bhatia held technical marketing and strategic planning positions with Ericsson, the global wireless infrastructure equipment leader. Earlier, he held a business management post in the sales division of Philips Telecom and Data Systems.

Bhatia holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from Nova Southeast University in Florida, and a MBA from Sheffield Hallum University in the United Kingdom. Bhatia has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
