NEW YORK: Bharti Tele-Ventures (BTVL), one of India's leading private sector provider of telecommunication services, has purchased Eagel 5 Sas system from United States-based Tekelec for enhancing its signaling network, Tekelec announced Bharti is India's largest global system for mobile communications (GSM) provider. The multi-pair EAGLE 5 system, Tekelec said, gives Bharti a technological edge as it migrates from a meshed to a hierarchical network, improving network efficiencies and increasing capacity. It will enable Bharti to deliver advanced telecommunications services, including real-time, transaction-oriented applications. Jagbir Singh, group chief technical officer of Bharti, yesterday said, that "to capitalize on the growth opportunities available in the Indian market and confirm our position as the leading integrated telecommunications service provider, we are turning to partners like Tekelec. "As indicated by its position as a leading signaling supplier in North America, Tekelec provides robust and reliable solutions that are helping to optimize our network, save money, and expand services," Singh said.
