Bharti Tele-Ventures forms strategic business unit

NEW DELHI: Telecom conglomerate Bharti Tele-Ventures Friday announced a strategic business unit that will provide all products and services to corporate clients through a single window. The initiative will merge the broadband and data services of Bharti Infotel with the corporate account functions of mobile and fixed line telephony to create a synergy within the group, a press release said. "This initiative is designed to ensure that synergetic businesses are run along similar lines, tapping the best resources available across our businesses through a single point contact," said Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman and managing director of the group. The New Delhi-headquartered group provides telecommunications services to 8.02 million customers, of which 7.34 million are mobile customers. The group offers mobile services in 16 out of 23 circles in India, each of which are equivalent to a state. It also provides fixed-line telecom services in five circles.
