Boston: The seventh annual Boston Bhangra Competition with 12 best Bhangra teams from across the United States and Canada competing to win the prestigious title colored up the Orpheum theatre, reports Ajay Gosh of India Tribune. The nearly 3,000 capacity theater was packed with Bhangra fans from around the country, making it the most popular Bhangra event in the nation. The teams came from Canada, California, New York, Boston and many more cities. Adding to the thrill were the special performances by the world famous Dark MC and Jaz Dhami, who made the famous songs, Dushmani, Chori Chori Takna, Theke Wali, and many more. Boston Bhangra has its own roots in college life, says Brookline's Rohit Bhambi, who started the group 10 years ago with his brother Amit. Boston Bhangra is a non-profit organization that promotes cultural awareness and mentorship of children.
