Bangalore IT.in back on tracks

BANGALORE: The week long face off between the Government of Karnataka and the IT industry over poor infrastructure in Bangalore came to an end after the government came out with a damage control exercise by announcing a three phase package for better amenities in the City.
After the assurance came, the IT industry too has decided to withdraw their threat of boycotting the next edition of Bangalore IT.in, Indias biggest IT showcase.
The government announced its intention to spruce up the infrastructure in and around Bangalore, fasten up the process to build an international airport and metro rail and improve road and traffic conditions after a closed-door meeting between the industry representative and the government.
The trouble erupted last week when a section of the IT industry threatened to boycott the annual event claiming worsening infrastructure in Bangalore made it difficult for them to do business. The Government fired back saying the IT industry has contributed nothing to the states exchequer and did not employ locals but hired talents from outside the state.
