BSNL joins Asia's largest mobile alliance

New Delhi: Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) has joined the Asia's largest Mobile Alliance namely "Conexus Mobile Alliance" at the Mobile Asia Congress in Macau, Hong Kong. Through this move BSNL aims to offer its customers, cost effective services while roaming in all member networks. This will benefit the BSNL's mobile customers availing discount while roaming in Conexus alliance countries in Asia with a combined customer base of around 160 million. BSNL will also facilitate BSNL to deliver ground - breaking, genuine and tangible benefits to International Roamers and realize its vision of offering of highest level of customer satisfaction in mobile services to corporate and consumer markets. The Conexus Alliance was established in April 2006, with the seven member operators, including Far EasTone Telecommunications in Taiwan, Hutchison Telecommunications in Hong Kong, PT Indosat Tbk in Indonesia, KT Freetel in South Korea, NTT DoCoMoc in Japan, Smart Communications in the Philippines and StarHub in Singapore. They have worked in concerted and unwavering efforts to ensure that all customers of the member countries are able to experience seamless and hassle-free mobile-related services when they roam in the networks of member countries. Conexus Mobile Alliance announced two more privileges to the customers of the member countries like SIM Card Replacement through Service Centres set up in member countries. In this, the Corporate users with Company's registered mobile lines of alliance members will be able to get a new and activated SIM card if they lose their original ones. Meanwhile, Conexus Mobile Alliance has also established partnership with 'Travelling Connect', a leading global provider of loyalty management services to the telecommunication industry. This will enable mobile subscribers of BSNL to earn miles or points when traveling abroad and making mobile phone calls on the networks of Alliance members.
