New Delhi: BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam) has signed an agreement to share its passive infrastructure with new telecom licencee Datacom Solutions. The financial terms were not disclosed. BSNL's separate infrastructure wing New Business Group will aid existing and new operators in faster roll-out of their networks. The agreement allows Datacom Solutions to access 42,000 BSNL towers across the country, excluding the service areas of Mumbai and Delhi. In July, BSNL had said that it expected to generate 10 billion within a year by sharing its infrastructure. Datacom Solutions holds a license to offer mobile telecom services in India, but is yet to start services. It is held jointly by Mahendra Nahata, Managing Director of Himachal Futuristic Communications and the Dhoot family, founders of consumer-goods maker Videocon Industries.
