NEW DELHI:EuropeÂ’s largest car maker BMW wants to set up a car assembly in India to increase sales in Asia, a top official today said. BMW Chief executive Helmut Panke said a plant in India would help it sell a targeted 150,000 cars within three years. Panke said a team of BMW experts is in India to scout for possible locations for car production. BMW sold only 122 imported cars in India last year from outlets in Bangalore, New Delhi and Mumbai. "There's no decision yet and we have no specific time frame. Perhaps we'll enter a joint venture similar to the one in China," Panke said.
