BMC Software announces expansion plans in India

Pune : BMC Software, a provider of enterprise systems management, announced that as a part of the expansion plans for its Indian operations, BMC Software will be adding over one hundred employees over the next twelve months. BMC Software also made a formal announcement of the appointment of Pankaj Dhume as President and CEO of BMC Software India, a wholly owned subsidiary of BMC Software. Dhume will be responsible for its entire operations in India including management of the company's R&D, marketing, back office and shared services organizations. BMC employs more than 1,000 employees at its two locations in Pune and Bangalore in India.
Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Dhume said, "We are looking forward to growing our talent base in India and in order to meet our recruitment goals for this fiscal year, we are recruiting students from institutes like the IITs and other leading engineering colleges in India. As part of a University Relationship initiative, the company will assist colleges and enable universities to monitor and set industry relevant curriculum, provide for summer internship projects for students and possible funding for software and hardware."
Speaking to the media, Kia Behnia, Chief Corporate Architect, BMC Software, announced the Annual BMC R&D Innovation Awards program. BMC Software has also launched a new Innovation Recognition Program for its employees in India. All the R&D employees of BMC Software India are eligible for this program, which recognizes individual employees as well as teams for innovative solutions which result in benefit to BMC's customers, its internal operations and processes and its presence in the marketplace. BMC Software's Pune centre is located at the prestigious International Convention Centre Tech Park is a state-of-the-art facility currently covering 1, 17, 000 square feet. It is BMC Software's largest location outside its corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas. The office has the capacity to expand further to accommodate up to 1,500 employees.
