BEL sees Rs 5,000 cr revenue by 2007

MUMBAI: Bharat Electronics Ltd, which makes equipment mostly for defence, aims to double its turnover by 2007, the BSE said on Wednesday.
It is eyeing a turnover of Rs 5,000 crore and profit before tax of Rs 500 crore in five years, as it steps up sales to civilians to 30 per cent of its turnover from 21 per cent, the exchange said.
The firm reported a net sales of Rs 2,570 crore and profit before tax of Rs 395 crore in the past year to March.
