Asian American hoteliers' membership up

WASHINGTON: The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) has become the largest member-based Indian business grouping in the U.S. with its membership crossing the 7,000 mark. According to the association, in the past 60 days, more than 1,200 people have joined it through an aggressive grassroots campaign. It said with more than 7,000 members, AAHOA is also the fastest growing association in the lodging industry. "AAHOA began with less than 100 members in 1989. We have seen phenomenal growth over the last 14 years and especially over the last two-and-a-half months," AAHOA chairman Hitesh Bhakta said in a statement.
