Bangalore: Apple is to launch new iMac computers on May 3. Apple will add the latest Intel Core i5/i7 "Sandy Bridge" architecture and the new Thunderbolt port into the product. Till now Apple has only confirmed about the Sandy Bridge and Thunderbolt support.
Though Apple is already late for the iMac, but this delay proves Apple quite lucky as in late January Intel announced a flaw in its new Sandy Bridge architecture and it stopped the shipments of certain motherboards.
Apple also has plans for a "visual night" on third May. A "visual night" is the process by which Apple retail employees work in the evening and into the early morning in an effort to revamp a store's product layouts, often heralding the arrival of a new piece of equipment on the Apple floor.
There are also speculations that Apple will launch new Thunderbolt capable MacBook Air models in June.
