Android 2.3 clamshell phone


Bangalore: Sharp, one of the well known Japanese manufacturers of electronic gadgets has proclaimed the launch of an Android clamshell handset. This innovative gadget is known as the 'Aquos Phone The Hybrid 007SH'. This water proof flip phone runs on Android 2.3. A clamshell phone has a flip in two or more sections that fold via a hinge. Although the name given to the phone does not seem fancy, but the looks of the phone does. This novel gadget contains generous features with a touch screen option. The phone has blended options of a SmartPhone and a feature phone. The features of the startling Aquos Phone The Hybrid 007SH are the 3.4-inch naked-eye 3D LCD touch screen with 854x480 resolution, 16MP CCD camera with 1,280'720 HD video recording support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, GPS, digital TV tuner, digital wallet function (Felica/RFID), infrared port, Micro HDMI interface, Blu-ray recorder connectivity, microSD/SDHC slot (shipped with a 2GB card inside), W-CDMA, GSM and size of about 113'51.8'19.3mm and weighing 140g. Added features of the Clamshell device is the auto stereoscopic 3D and an array of eye catching colours which will definitely be the apple of an eye for the girls. The processing power and internal storage capacity has not yet been revealed, but the device will show 3D without glasses, which is quite similar to the Nintendo 3DS and few upcoming Android handsets. The AQUOS PHONE THE HYBRID 007SH will be distributed in Japan by mobile carrier SoftBank starting next month. Sharp is trying to catch everyone's attention and this will certainly bring something 'new' to the world of Android. This SmartPhone will very soon be available in India as well. Price and availability of Sharp AQUOS Hybrid 007SH mobile phone in India is not officially announced. It will be available in multiple colors. Apparently this innovative product will also have clamshell phone competitors simultaneously. The much-vaunted fabulous clamshell series by Motorola, Motorazr2 V8, an ultra-slim flip-phone with excellent music player. A nice 2GB of internal and some marathon battery life (500 min talk, 280 hours standby). The V8 also had Crystal Talk technology, which automatically adjusts audio. And also a phone with sharp good looks. It is priced at 10,500. Following competitor would be the Nokia N76. This phone happens to be the first clamshell SmartPhone. It is slightly fatter than the V8 at 13.7mm (the V8 got down to 11.9mm). Dedicated music player controls make it a good music phone, and a 3.5mm audio jack tops it off. This gadget is priced at 14,100.
