Aloke Bajpai founded iXigo.com gets funding

Bangalore: Aloke Bajpai founded travel search engine iXiGO.com has received an undisclosed amount of first-round financing from BAF Spectrum, a Singapore-based seed investment firm, reported VC Circle. The investment will fund iXiGO's marketing plans and also the plans to scale-up searchable travel content. The search engine launched in June 2007 will see William Klippgen, Executive Director at BAF Spectrum, one of the internet pioneers in Europe, joining iXiGO's board of directors. BAF Spectrum is an angel investment fund supported by the Economic Development Board in Singapore under the Business Angel Scheme. Unlike other travel portals, iXiGO helps travellers to search and book directly on airline sites. Bajpai, CEO of iXiGo says, "This is a model that will save them time and money while reducing distribution costs for airlines."
