Airtel revenue up 42 percent

New Delhi: Telecom major Bharti Airtel's Friday said that its total revenue grew by 42 percent for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2008.
The company announced its audited U.S. GAAP results for the second quarter and half-year ended September 2008.
The consolidated total revenue for the July-September quarter grew by 42 percent to 
90.2 billion (9,020 crore) and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of 36.99 billion (3,699 crore) grew by 37 percent on a year on year basis, a company statement said.
Airtel had 79.9 million subscribers as on Sep 30, 2008, an increase in the total subscriber base of 57 percent from the same date last year, it added.
