Gurgaon: Couple of weeks back Airtel launched Apple iPhone-3GS in India. Now, Bharti Airtel has decided to launch HTC smart phone 3G priced at 9,990, by this year end. The largest cellular service provider also announced its exclusive partnership with Taiwan-based smart phone manufacturer HTC. The new HTC smart phone 3G is based on the U.S.-chipset maker Qualcomm's Brew operating system. While designing Smart, HTC seems to have paid a lot of attention on its cost as Sanjay Kapoor from Airtel said: "With the HTC Smart, our customers will be the first in the world to experience a revolutionary smart phone that is not only affordable but is also 3G-ready." As per the alliance, the touchscreen phone will be available exclusively on Airtel networks in 30 cities. The company hopes to sell three lakh HTC Smart phones this year. The main attraction of this little HTC Smart phone is that it offers easy-to-use widgets, browsing and connectivity at an affordable price. The integration of HTC lends to it a sense of reliability too as it is one of the leading touch-screen manufacturers. It also incorporates the latest cutting-edge features and sports a 2.8-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive high resolution screen and a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack. If you are looking for a 3G enabled budget smart phone, then just grab it. "HTC Smart marks our strategic focus on India, the fastest growing telecom market in the world. The demand for smartphones is also increasing fast, and in next three years it would account for around 40 per cent of the total handset sales. Our latest handset is an easy-to-use and affordable smart phone through which we aim to create a new category of smart phones," said HTC Corporation CEO Peter Chou.
