After Petrol and Diesel India Chases Food Prices

The clauses on which the survey is conducted are GDP, land area, prevalence of undernourishment, intensity of food deprivation, and human development index.  As for U.S., it scores a full 100 on Proportion of population under global poverty line, presence of food safety net programs, and access to financing for farmers and carries no current challenges.

India’s score on the strength varies from 100 on nutritional standards to 89.9 on volatility of agricultural production and to 79.6 on food safety. The challenges are public expenditure on agricultural R&D where it scores a grand zero, and gross domestic product per capita is 5.8 and protein quality is 15.4. India does score a highest of 51.3 on food availability, however scoring a lowest of 38.4 on food access, indicating the inefficiency in food truckage.

As per the survey “Several of the sub-Saharan African countries that finished in the bottom third of the index, Including Mozambique, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Niger, will be among the world’s faster growing economies during the next two years”. These impoverished countries are increasing their income ratio, which may put them in the position to confront the food insecurity in imminent future.

The government policies and nutrition related prompters, financing access to farmers, providing food safety net, and protein quality and diet variegation are closely related to food availability at affordable prices.
