Los Angeles: Singer Adele's "Rolling in the deep" was named the best song of the year at the prestigious Grammy awards ceremony here.

The track from Adele's album "21" competed with Kanye West's "All of the lights" (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy), Mumford and sons' "The cave" (Sigh No More), Bruno Mars' "Grenade" (Doo-Wops & Hooligans) and Justin Vernon's Holocene (Bon Iver).

The 23-year-old also pocketed the best pop solo performance for her song "Someone Like You" from her album "21", which was named the best pop vocal album at the glitzy event.

Despite a vocal chord surgery in November 2011, Adele also staged a powerful performance at the ceremony.
