CHENNAI: Accenture is making Chennai its second home in South India. The global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company is looking at creating a campus-like software development facility in Chennai. Chennai, it appears, is fast becoming the darling destination for IT players looking for a second base in India . Accenture is the latest to join the league of IT bluechips like Infosys, Wipro and Xansa, who have set up their parellel facilities in Chennai. According to sources, Accenture plans to have a delivery centre spread over five lakh sq.ft, possibly on the famed IT corridor of Chennai. This corridor is home to IT bigwigs and biotech parks. Accenture has been operating in India since 1987. It has approximately 4,300 employees in India (as on December 2003) and serves more than 80 clients through its operations in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore .
