Ford An American multinational automaker, Ford Motor Company is based in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. The automaker was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903. Adding up to it the Ford and Lincoln brands, Ford owns a small stake in Aston Martin in the UK and Mazda in Japan. Ford's former UK subsidiaries Land Rover and Jaguar were sold to Tata Motors of India in March 2008. In 2010 Ford sold Volvo to Geely Automobile. Ford ceased the Mercury brand after the 2011 model year. Ford is at the peak among auto brands in the survey and its 2011 sales bounced back.
