The Departed

The Departed is an American crime thriller which received 4 Oscars at the 79th Academy Awards. The story is about an undercover state cop who gained access into an Irish gang. The two chief characters of the movie are based on famous gangster Whitey Bulger and corrupt FBI agent John Connolly, who grew up with Bulger. When both sides realize the situation, each of them attempts to learn about the other’s true identity before their own cover is blown.

The Illusionist

Directed by Neil Burger, The Illusionist is based loosely on Steven Millhauser's short story, "Eisenheim the Illusionist". The story is about a magician who uses his abilities to win a woman’s heart that stays far beyond from his social standing. The film was a commercial and critical success because of its phenomenal twisted climax.
