9 Fastest Growing Social Media Companies

#8 Myspace:

Well, to an extent Myspace must be the most interesting pick in the list. With the user rate going down and a recent noticeable decline in the web traffic, Myspace still can be regarded as a social media company that can regain its lost crown in 2013. With a strong music emphasis owned by Specific Media LLC and pop music singer and actor Justin Timberlake, Myspace is one of the companies that enterprises must watch out for in 2013.

Myspace was founded in 2003 and was acquired by News Corporation in July 2005 for $580 million. From 2005 until early 2008, Myspace was regarded as the most visited social networking site in the world, and in June 2006 surpassed Google as the most visited website in the United States. But in April 2008 things started to change as Myspace was overtaken by Facebook in the number of unique worldwide visitors, and later on was surpassed in the number of unique U.S. visitors in May 2009. Since then, the number of Myspace users has declined steadily in spite of several redesigns. As of February 2013, Myspace was ranked 220 by total web traffic, and 133 in the United States.
