#1 Bringing foreign degrees to India

In 2012, a not-for-profit institute that taught courses from the University of London International Programmes was set up in Delhi by trio; Mohit Jain, Maitreyi Singhvi and Romit Choudhury. The concept took shape when Jain and Singhvi met in 2011, as both were working in Dubai.

Jain, who pursued his M.Tech degree from IIT, Delhi and studies for MBA at Harvard Business School, was with McKinsey while Singhvi was working as a legal advisor with Daman Health Insurance Company. As both of them were unhappy about the lack of employability among Indian students; they came up with the idea of bringing foreign courses to India at an affordable price. Thus the courses were designed by the London School of Economics and Nothwest College and thus offered five under-graduate degree courses taught in LSE; banking, accounting, finance and management and four post-graduate diploma programmes.
