5. Google Wave
Google Wave was first announced on May 27, 2009. It is a web-based computing platform and communications protocol, designed to merge key features of media like e-mail, instant messaging, and social networking.
Google stopped the developments on Google Wave over a year ago. But from January 31, 2012 Wave will become read-only and you won’t be able to create new ones. On April 31, 2012 Google Wave will turn it off completely. Google says if users like to continue using this technology, there are a number of open source projects like Apache Wave and Walkaround.
