The new innovation out of Nokia R&D is Nokia Indoor Navigation, to provide precise indoor location information on a handset, without needing GPS.

As part of Nokia Research Center Media Technologies Lab, the team in Bangalore works on novel imaging technologies and spatial audio as focused research areas.

Intel Corporation is an American multinational semiconductor chip maker corporation head quartered in Santa Clara, California.

The company has six major Intel Research Lablets. The four university lablets were each hosted by a partner University, and other two onsite lablets are in Intel company campus.

The company’s R&D is credited for single-chip cloud computer, and is looking for ways to generate more energy and packing efficient system architecture. The company is also into research of silicon-based avalanche photo detector, and Packaging Technologies.

Intel India Development Centre (IIDC), the chipmaker’s second-largest R&D centre outside the US is based in India.
