Nissan’s presence in India has got strengthened as a value for money car maker and with Nissan Sunny making its way into the lineup it is surely posing a health competition to its counterparts even over the global stage.

The feature-rich car Sunny ranked 5th on the list, as the company exported 37,730 units this year with a rise in 26 percent as compared to 29,908 units in FY 13.

Renault-Nissan’s Chennai plant exports the sedan in parts and components to places like Nigeria and Vietnam. With the manufacturing being started on the facelifted Sunny, the company plans to make the refreshed model available to the global market as soon as possible.

 

VW Vento

Taking a lot of cues with the Polo hatchback, the Vento is a midsize sedan from Volkswagen India that competes with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Renault Scala and Ford Fiesta.  

The high end variant from the Volkswagen flagship recorded around 32,017 units between FY 13 and FY 14 with the increased number by 295 percent thanks to identification of new markets such as Malaysia Mexico and Philippines.

The Vento is made globally at three plants that includes India, Russia and South Africa. VW India’s Chakan plant, which makes only the Polo and Vento models exported over 30 percent of what it produced last year to the global markets.
