After Almost three years after introducing its hatchback in India, the Japanese manufacturer, Nissan has its heads up as its successful hatchback ‘Micra’ is the second most exported car from India.
The Micra, made at Renault-Nissan’s Chennai plant, has nearly exported 78,383 units in FY 14, which is a rise by 13 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. With this strong international presence, Nissan has exported Micra almost to 100 markets including Europe. The car is sold in the Europe with a 1.2-litre supercharged engine as well.
Hyundai i20

Another car from the same mother, the Hyundai i20, is a top car produced by the South Korean car maker since 2008. It is a premium hatchback which has got overwhelming response from the Indian consumers for its styling, comfort, mileage, performance and reliability.
Claiming the third spot in the list the Hyundai i20 sold 59,789 units in FY 14 and saw its exports rise by 7 percent as compared to 56,003 units in FY 13.
The India-made i20 is sold in markets such as South America, Africa and Asia. With the next generation i20 in the pipeline, Hyundai would try to benefit out of this by adopting the export strategy to increase its international presence.
