It's frightening and hurtful when bullies taunt and deride their peers at the schoolyard. It can be even more damaging when it happens online. Cyber bullying includes threats, gossip, and insults that are spread via e-mail and IM, broadcast on social networking sites, planted in forums, and distributed through community-oriented online games.
There are certain guidelines that if followed may keep you away from these traps. Users should frequently revisit and fine-tune their privacy settings and the policies of the social networking site and do not disclose all of our personal information. Try never downloading any unsolicited software or click on URLs from unknown users. It is good for you get familiarize themselves with the behavior of members within their network. Most importantly be wary of all shared links from unreliable sources and messages that contain short and seemingly vague messages and lastly keep operating systems and anti-virus software up-to-date.
