Not Developing your Core Team
In the initial days of your venture you and your co-founders will be doing all the jobs. Then there comes a time, when you start hiring more people; your first employees. They form your core team, the team that will do the execution while the founders will concentrate on strategy. Failing to develop the apt team and the right people to be part of that team can be disastrous. If the core team is not competent enough, then the founders will have to continue creating and executing strategy and this will handicap the company. It will also inevitably subdue its growth opportunities. So, high priority has to be given to the selection of members and development of the core team.
