5 most expensive desserts of the world!
Bangalore: It's good to have a great meal but what's a great meal without the wonderful dessert? Rich, sinful, decadent-people with a sweet tooth usually find desserts the most gratifying part of any meal. Anything with sugar in it is an indulgence-be it pies, puddings, or anything else. You might worry about a hefty dental statement later but how about the price tag of the dessert itself? Though an indulgence now and then is the key to a happy and satisfied life, for those who want to know how expensive indulgences could get and for those extremely wealthy people, here's a list of the most luxurious desserts! Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence Food presentation is extremely essential and when it comes to the Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence, there is no qualm. The treat at the luxury resort Fortress in Galle, Sri Lanka is available at the hotel's Wine3 restaurant. This Italian Cassata made with gold leaf and Irish cream is served with a mango and pomegranate compote, a champagne sabayon enlighten. The most surprising part of the dessert is a chocolate figurine of a stilt fisherman sitting over an 80-carat aquamarine. This amazing dessert costs $14,500 but no one has shelled out this amount for the dessert as yet. Frrozen Haute Chocolate Collaboration between jeweler Euphoria New York and Serendipity3 fashioned the Frrozen Haute Chocolate dessert. A mix of 28 cocoas, part of which is amongst the world's most exclusive and pricey, infused with five grams of 23 karat gold, this dessert is served in a chalice lined with edible gold and there's a blob of whipped cream and La Madeline au Truffle shavings to top it. You can also find a diamond studded gold bracelet lining the base. This $25,000 sundae is eaten with a gold spoon which is also studded with white and chocolate diamonds which you can happily keep. The Frrozen Haute Chocolate is to be ordered at a whopping two weeks advance notice. If you are in New York, head to Serendipity and do try out the sundae. Platinum Cake Decked with platinum necklaces, pendants, foils and pins (a few of which are edible and the rest can be taken home), this Platinum Cake comes with a tiny price tag of $130,000. Shaped by Japanese pastry chef Nobue Ikara, this white cake was made as a tribute to gorgeous women and to insist on wearing more platinum jewelry. The best part of the Platinum cake is that you get to eat the platinum and wear it too. What a grab! The cake hasn't been sold and they have no idea whether it will be sold or not. It rests flaunting itself at a promotional event for Platinum Guild International in Tokyo. Strawberries Arnaud If you walk into Arnaud's in the French Quart of New Orleans, you would find Strawberries Arnaud-ice-cream strawberries marinated in citrus and red wine topped off with cream and mint. Look closely, and you will find a price tag of $1.4 million. Why? Look a tad bit harder at the sliced fruit and you will find a 4.7 carat pink diamond ring that once belonged to Sir Ernest Cassel, as part of the topping. This exclusive dessert is served with wine out of a wine set worth $24,850. Diamond Fruitcake Taking up to six months to design and a month to finish, this Diamond fruitcake was concocted by another Japanese chef in Tokyo. He decided to auction it off on Christmas. The chef has also not disclosed the recipe of the fruitcake. Except for the 223 diamonds on the exterior of the cake, the rest is edible. This fruitcake sounds like the perfect Christmas present for your wife wherein you can share the cake and keep her happy with the diamonds. If you want to grab this expensive dessert, head to Tokyo.
