5 Richest Dictators of All Time

Hosni Mubarak:

Hosni Mubarak is certainly one among the richest dictators in history. The former Egyptian President collected wealth while his citizens continued to struggle on a daily basis. He was said to have accumulated $70 billion over 30 years, with his sons and family controlling and taking cuts on all projects that took place in Egypt. The Mubaraks are known to have lived life royally.

His almost thirty-year presidency made him Egypt's longest-serving leader since Muhammad Ali Pasha. Mubarak was ousted after 18 days of protests during the 2011 Egyptian revolution when, Vice President Omar Suleiman announced that Mubarak had resigned as president and transferred authority to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces. He was later ordered to stand trial on charges of premeditated murder of protestors during the revolution. On 2 June this year, Mubarak was sentenced to life by the Egyptian court. After sentencing, he was reported to have undergone a series of health issues.
