5 Famous Tech IPO's Before Facebook
Bangalore: The much anticipated IPO by Facebook is expected to take place this week and according to the reports, it could be the largest debut for any internet firm in the history. But there were few other tech and internet giants who made headlines in the past with their Initial Public Offerings. Here is a list of famous 5 among them.
Apple, founded in April 1976, went for its Initial Public Offering four years later on December 12, 1980. It generated more capital than any IPO since Ford Motor Company in 1956 and also made many millionaires in a day (about 300), than any company in history. Apple offered its share at a price of $22 and made less than $100 million on the first day. The company currently has a market value of $425.61 billion and it trades under the symbol AAPL in NASDAQ.
