4 Founders Who Joined Back to Rescue Their Companies

4. Steve Jobs
Company: Apple

For a company that spearheaded consumer electronics revolution with its blockbuster products like iPod, iPhone, iPad and many others, it has not always been an easy job. Today Apple is the second largest technology company around the globe after Samsung Electronics.

In 1976 Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne established Apple. In 1985 resigned from Apple and established NeXT Inc. But in 1996 Apple proposed to buy NeXT for $427 million seeking Jobs to join back Apple and take charge as the CEO. Jobs joined Apple back the same year replacing Gil Amelio.

After joining back, Jobs concentrated on increasing the company’s profits which was going through losses with projects like Macintosh Portable. Jobs ended quiet a few projects such as Newton, Cyberdog, and OpenDoc. The licensing program for Macintosh clones were also altered by Jobs, making it too costly for the manufacturers to continue making machines.
