"I am surprised there are not many women who opt for entrepreneurship as we are not considered to be the breadwinners and our liabilities are lesser. I realized that a corporate job would not give me the dimension and experience that I was looking at getting by running my own firm," says Abbas.

Sangeetha Narasimhan

Sangeetha Narasimhan, a former systems engineer at Cisco quit her job in 2011 to join and incubate her idea at ISB. After completing her course and passing out from Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at ISB in Hyderabad, she is now all set to start her startup - Twimo. Narasimhan bootstrapped her startup for a year and this consumer tech startup is expected to be launched the next month.

"I could take the leap of faith as I became confident that not all would be lost,” says Sangeetha Narasimhan.

 

Minnat Lalpuria

Minnat has creatively explored a new niche with 7vachan.com. This startup expects to explore the wedding segment by providing one stop solution for all wedding needs. It claims to organize all needs by assigning a wed-ordinator for the special occasion. It lists out a wide variety of services for weddings all at discount and also has features like membership and wallet services.  

"I was bold to let go of placement offers; it is not easy to give up on offers to start something from scratch,” says Minnat Lalpuria. As compiled by Economic Times.
