Bangalore: Justice delayed is justice denied and it's nothing less of a brutal denial of justice to the victims of Bhopal gas tragedy in the Union Carbide's pesticide plant which killed tens of thousands.
Bhopal tragedy
After 26 years of agony, the innocent victims are knocking the doors of our politicians for a 'way of life,' otherwise normally called the 'compensations'. A group of over 5000 survivors and victims of the deadly gas leak has decided to stage a dharna in front of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence on November 1. The convener of Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangathan (BGPMUS) Abdul Jabbar said, "The victims will also write a letter every day till November 1 to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, GoM chairperson P. Chidambaram and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, pointing out the consistent betrayal they have faced at the hands of all three," reports The Hindu. "According to our estimate, about 1,000 victims have died due to lack of timely relief in the form of compensation," said Jabbar.
