2012 World Economic Forum at Davos
Topics of Discussion at World Economic Forum – The topics of discussion every year revolve around usual deals, like politics, economy and health of the country people. This year the topics of discussion will revolve primarily around China and the euro-zone crisis. The topic of heated debate will be ‘Capitalism,’ which, according to many, is presently not suited to our evolving world. Most of the people at the meet believe that questioning the authenticity of capitalism is apt at this point of time as almost all the economies of the world are struggling to maintain equilibrium in their economies. BBC News quotes John Griffith-Jones, UK and Europe Chairman of KPMG, who says, “Is capitalism working? Will we grow again? Is the Western model still working?” Jones further added, "I'm really interested in hearing people talk about that." Jones says that people are in dire need of a "concept of responsible capitalism" but reaching a consensus will be a challenge. WEF founder quoted, "Capitalism in its current form no longer fits the world around us." So, only time will tell as to what the meet will decide upon the future of capitalism.
