2010 rings in a Cheerful investment Year in India

Technology Ahoy! The year 2010 saw the emergence of Venture investments in technology rise; the angel community became more active. We also saw a number of funds close their fund raise in 2010. From an exit point of view the M & A market was indeed active and there were record $71 billion of deals, led by oil and gas, metals and mining companies.
Even the PE players turned to a positive note in Technology growth funding."As per recent statistics from Ernst&Young, India is likely to get over $7 billion in private equity investments in 2010, as robust economic growth is making the country an attractive market for fund mangers," says Sudhir Sethi of IDG Ventures. A Positive Year for all Funds The investment trend in 2010 in India was positive. As per available data the year registered over 800 deals including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity (PE) and qualified institutional placement (QIP)) valued at $54 billion as per a recent report by Grant Thornton India.
As Anil Joshi of Mumbai Angels says, "The trend has reinforced faith in the Indian economy, a whopping $4.7 billion investment in capital market in November 2010 indicated very positive outlook in future. With an investment of $4.78 billion in November, the total inflows of foreign institutional investors (FIIs) so far in 2010 have crossed the record $38.76 billion mark, which are very positive indication for growth potential."
