This unique story with a realistic look at the future touched a huge number of geeks deeply although it flopped at the box office. Instead of depicting a bright gleaming humanity where aliens are the only threat or a post apocalyptic nightmare, humans are their own worst enemy, much like the present. This masterpiece will have you wondering whether or not tech should be used to make people better.

5. Lord of the Rings Trilogy

The hardcore fans of this trilogy don’t find a better way to spend 12 hours than watching these back to back. With the first of the Hobbit movies set to release next year, they couldn’t stop themselves watching that again. Peter Jackson convinced the world that Lord of the Rings if filmable when many considered not. All thanks to the incredible locations and immense battles. Together this trilogy rightly deserves the label “epic”.
