Bangalore: With the launch of its service to UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, 160by2.com, a Hyderabad based free SMS service offering of SMSCountry has introduced free SMS services to and from the Middle-East. The service enables the internet users a free SMS connectivity to mobiles in these countries and vice versa. The users from the Middle East can also send messages to India and between those countries. Consumers can register themselves to 160by2.com for free for using the service. The consumer has to enter the mobile number and the country code to communicate and then type in an 80 characters message and send it to the designated mobile. The remaining 80 characters space in the message will be used by 160by2 to feed in an advertisement. Earlier, the free SMS service was available only within India. "Free internet to phone messaging service particularly to foreign countries is expected to gain huge popularity in the country and we have the first mover advantage in the area by this launch. We see a huge demand for this service from users especially from states like Kerala, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, which are important markets for us. This model will effectively remove the biggest hurdle in communication of high costs," said Satyakalyan Yerramsetti, Chief Executive Officer, SMSCountry. Ranked among the top 100 most visited sites in India by Alexa, and among the top 10 most visited WAP sites in India by Opera, 160by2 also provides bulk messaging platform enabling business and promotional users to connect with their associates and target customers.
