Prior to that position she was a Google Technical Recruiter for three years. She also had stint at Foursquare as talent hunter which she left to found her own startup, Main.is.

Kristen is the Executive Director of Girls Who Code, a national nonprofit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and engineering sectors. With backing from Twitter, Google, GE, AT&T, Microsoft and eBay, Girls Who Code programs work to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in engineering and technology. Recognizing her work with Girls Who Code, Kristen was named one of Forbes’ “Woman Changing the World” in its 2012 "100 Most Powerful Women" issue.
