15 Nations With Highest Internet Freedom

U.S comes second in the list, and people enjoy relatively higher internet freedom as compared to rest world. It is made possible in the country because of organizations like, digital rights advocate, citizens and several technology companies enacted an internet “blackout” in opposition to two congress bills, Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) that tried to block non-American websites allegedly infringing on U.S. copyrights. The internet penetration rate in the country is 78.  

#1 Estonia

Estonia tops the list, with more than 75 percent of citizens having access to internet, and there’s a wide spread e-commerce and e-governance services. The press and bloggers are free to say anything online. The country has a national digital identification system that allows its citizens to vote online. The country is also coming up with plans to teach coding to public school students as early as first grade according to technology blog UbuntuLife.
