The tale goes like this: ESPN president George Bodenheimer attended the first Disney board meeting in Orlando. On his way back, he met Steve Jobs in a hallway. He thought of introducing himself to Jobs and said, “I am George Bodenheimer and I run ESPN.” Jobs just looked at him and said nothing other than “Your phone is the dumbest f**k**g idea I have ever heard,” and walked away. The sports network was planning to launch a ESPN branded flip-phone at that time and it was Jobs reply to that.

Ken Olsen, the co-founder of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), the leading American company in the computer industry from 1960s to 1990s has presumably made one of the most debated tech quotes. Time Magazine quoted the legend, but he said his words were taken out of context and he was actually talking about the computers meant to control the houses.
