Ruzwana Bashir, a travel junkie, having navigated her way through 40 countries, is the co-founder and CEO of Peek.com, a travel company based in San Francisco, California. Peek helps travelers to discover and book amazing things to do in a new destination. Peek hand picks the highest quality activities, displays them beautifully, and makes them easily bookable online. Her startup attracted investments from two top-notch tech execs: Jack Dorsey of Twitter and Square, and Google chairman Eric Schmidt.
Prior to this, Bashir worked in private equity at the Blackstone Group and in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in London. She then worked at Gilt Groupe and was part of the founding team at Art.sy in New York. In 2004, Bashir was nominated for the Woman of the Year Award by publishing house Minerva.
